Diyarbakır About

Diyarbakır is one of the oldest settlements in Anatolia. With its location on historic trade routes and along the banks of the Tigris River, it has been an important center of commerce and culture for centuries.

Diyarbakır is at the northern end of Mesopotamia in the central part of the Southeastern Anatolia Region. It is surrounded by Batman, Siirt, Muş from the east; Mardin from the south; Şanlıurfa, Adıyaman, Malatya from the west; Elâzığ and Bingöl from the north.
